5 /5 Harvey Wilcox: I just had the most remarkably helpful experience in my life with someone offering help with my taxes. Dear Jasmine. Because of its many glitches, I gave up on HR Block this year and this is my first year using Turbo Tax. Although I had properly entered all my data, your program identified problems with two annuities and would not e-file my return.
The first person who tried to help me was Ali. He was kind and tried very hard to help, but eventually gave up. Then I wrote back and forth with another person who concluded there was “something wrong” and disappeared. When I wrote back to see if he/she was still there, I got the same response that there was "something wrong."
Today I fortunately ended up talking with Jasmine who stuck with me for several hours (she was very patient with someone turning 80 next week). We reviewed several entries and, after she took a research break, she explained that there is a known problem in the Turbo Tax program having to do with entering information for annuities that is expected to be fixed by March 21. She then helped me with a couple of entries that would let me apply my refunds of Federal and Virginia taxes to next year’s returns.
I had spent over 20 hours trying to figure this out and haven’t slept for 3 nights because I can’t find an accountant at this late date. I totally trust Jasmine and believe that the problem will be resolved shortly and that I will be able to file both returns after March 22.
By the way, I was very impressed with Jasmine’s analytical abilities in tracking down and isolating the problem. You have a “gem” in Jasmine.
