5 /5 Chad: I stopped into Melt Gourmet Sandwiches and tried two sandwiches that blew me away — the Tennessee Jed and the Superbeast. Both were absolutely incredible, each for their own reasons.
The Tennessee Jed is a perfect balance of smoky, savory, and sweet. It comes stacked with cheddar, sweet/smoky chicken, hot honey, and pimento beer cheese, all topped with fried onions, pickle shreds, and served on fresh sourdough. The hot honey gave it just the right kick, while the creamy pimento beer cheese tied everything together with a rich, sharp flavor. The fried onions added that satisfying crunch, and the pickle shreds cut through with a bright tang. Every bite had layers of texture and taste that kept me going back for more.
Then there’s the Superbeast — and the name really says it all. This monster is loaded with brisket, apricot cream, provolone, mushrooms, and onions, and it’s finished with a balsamic glaze. The brisket was tender and smoky, and pairing it with the sweet apricot cream was genius — the flavors just melt together in the best way possible. The provolone added a smooth, nutty note, while the mushrooms and onions gave it a hearty, earthy backbone. The balsamic glaze on top brought everything together with a sweet and tangy finish that made it feel like a gourmet experience.
Both sandwiches show how creative and well thought-out the menu is at Melt. They don’t just pile ingredients together — they balance flavors, textures, and even little surprises like the apricot cream or hot honey that take each bite to another level.
If you’re looking for sandwiches that feel indulgent but also chef-driven, Melt Gourmet Sandwiches is the place. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.
