2 /5 Vito Culcasi: Weve been going to Picanos for over 35 years but yesterdays experience was unacceptable. We had a reservation for 6 people celebrating Christmas. First of all they sat us in a room that was having 3 large groups even though the restaurant was very empty at the time. We ordered 2 appetizers, fried calamari and fried mozzarella sticks. The calamari had an old oil taste, the mozzarella sticks had a similar taste. With the entrees, the chicken siciliano was rubbery, the pasta dish, short regatti with mushrooms and mini meatballs had a burnt tomato sauce taste and very oily. One in our group ordered cacio & pepe pasta that was basically buttered noodles, no pepper or cacio cheese. Other than the service and the bread, this was a terrible experience. Unfortunately, after frequenting this restaurant for all these years, this will be the last time I will be going there. There are much better Italian restaurants in the area to visit
