3 /5 JC: We went to Theos with a group of about 10 for lunch. That wasnt the best move on our part because it was very crowded, and I definitely acknowledge that.
The food was excellent. I have no complaints there. The coney was one of the better coneys Ive tried in my years of living in the Detroit area.
Where my experience fell short was the service. The service was excellent from an efficiencys standpoint. The food came out quickly, despite the crowd. Where the service fell short was that our server was not very kind and was not able to hide her anxiety well at dealing with the crowd. She hurried us through our orders, interrupted conversations we were having loudly when asking us questions, and quite simply did not have good energy. I think that perhaps she was just having a bad day and/or that she wasnt happy about dealing with the crowd.
To add to the service deficit, the restaurant had a problem with the womens bathroom while we were there. This caused a terrible smell to emanate throughout the back of the restaurant and to reach our table. The employees tried to mask the smell and fix the problem, but it didnt help.
Id probably return to Theos, but not during lunch hours. The food is excellent, but the atmosphere during lunch is chaotic, which caused our server to not be as kind as she likely normally is.
