1 /5 Maisoun Fawaz: I recently had an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this Kohl’s location while trying to purchase a Ninja Creami.
The product was tied down with security sensors, which is understandable, but there was no clear signage or assistance nearby. I had to track down an associate who didn’t know how to handle the situation and told me a manager would need to see me in person before I could purchase it which made no sense and made me feel like I was being treated with suspicion from the start.
After waiting around for about 30 minutes, the Ninja Creami was finally brought to the register. However, things got even more uncomfortable. Two managers and two employees suddenly appeared at the same register, making it four people involved in a basic checkout. The atmosphere felt tense, like I was being monitored for potential theft. One manager even said loudly, “I’m not going to take off the alarm until her payment goes through.” I found this extremely unprofessional and humiliating.
To make matters worse, I attempted to use my Kohl’s Cash something I’ve done many times as a loyal customer and was initially told only three could be used. I knew this wasn’t accurate and questioned it. The manager responded rudely, saying, “I’m the manager of this store,” in a dismissive tone. After showing all my Kohl’s Cash, it turned out the system did accept all of them, just as I had expected.
This entire experience from being treated with suspicion to the poor customer service left a very negative impression. I’ve shopped at Kohl’s for years and never felt this unwelcome. I will be avoiding this location in the future.
