5 /5 Jennifer Margolis: Zumba at Celyfit is about the getting into the best shape I can while having a blast instead of relying solely on self-discipline or paying 10 times more to a trainer. Cely’s Zumba is high energy, globally-inspired with an emphasis in Latin and South American music and moves with a Brazilian twist, thanks to Celi’s history as a Carnivale dancer from Brazil. Shannon and Melina have each added their own unique styles to the mix while keeping with the same energy and global inspiration, and each of their playlists are always changing and evolving, keeping it all fresh and challenging.
I love adding the other classes, Vanessa’s yoga classes and the other muscle-building and stretching classes, to the benefits of Zumba so that it gives me the complete fitness package. They are all awesome. I am looking forwards to trying out the Samba classes next!
The bonus here at Celyfit is being part of a group of friendly, positive, and accepting people that celebrates being alive, our diversity, and getting healthier and more fit together. There is research showing that when we form a group that does challenging rituals together it leads to reduced physical and mental anxiety, a sense of community and of being part of something bigger, and a sense of purpose*, all of which are especially important in our world right now.
But when I go to Celyfit I am not thinking about why I should go, I am just excited to have a place to go that makes my life better, and a lot more fun!
