Flagstar Bank - Sterling Heights Hawk 411: **Before I write this review I need to make it known that this is not a review of this branch in particular, or the employees who work at this location. This is a review of Flagstar as an banking entity.
**IF YOUR MORTGAGE GETS TRANSFERRED TO FLAGSTAR, READ THIS**
I have NEVER experienced such blatant incompetence and utter disregard for customers as I have with Flagstar Bank. Three weeks ago, I found out that they shorted my escrow account, causing a severe shortage and forcing me into an absurd increase in my monthly payments—over $700 more than I was paying before. With a baby on the way, this is not just inconvenient, its financially crippling.
I’ve called customer service multiple times, and all I get are agents who are completely useless. They have no clue how to fix the issue, and worse, they’re working with inaccurate, fabricated information. Their “automated system” is a joke, and none of them seem capable or willing to actually verify anything or admit when they’ve made a mistake. Even when I point out obvious discrepancies, they refuse to correct the information, acting as if I’m the one at fault. Their system reports that my property taxes and property insurance have doubled. I have evidence that they, in fact, have not increased. And the issue was created by their faulty unchecked system. Every agent, managers included, possess no interest or competence to be able to do their job and investigate and resolve the matter using their own intelligence. Whatever the automated software says, goes. No matter how wildy false it may be. What a joke.
As of now, the problem remains unresolved, and I’m stuck paying higher payments because Flagstar cant do their job right. This is outrageous and completely unacceptable. I will be writing negative reviews until I feel satisfied knowing that Ive warned as many people as possible. It is simply not right that a banking entity is able to mess up this bad and face no consequences.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT bank with Flagstar. They’ll mishandle your account, ignore your concerns, and leave you with a mess to clean up while they sit on their hands. It’s a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
