1 /5 Doug Wyatt: I do not recommend Phoenix Freerunning. My 13 year old son was training here since it re-opened in August. A novice parkour student, he was injured October 19th, 2025 while performing an advanced skill without proper safety precautions. He was asked to perform a dive kong into a forward roll and landed hard on his right shoulder. There was no pad for him to land on, just the carpet-bonded foam gymnastics floor mat. 10 days in a sling, with the second appointment with the orthopedic surgeon next week.

They are still rebuilding (on their own!) but open most evenings. Its great to drop in and let my lad burn some energy! Great prices, cant wait to see the gym when finished!

5 /5 Tori Thompson: My sons have been coming here for a year now. They absolutely love it. We took the summer off to vacation a lot and the boys cant wait for September to get here so they can get back to Phoenix. The instructors are all fantastic, energetic, highly skilled young men and women. You can tell they genuinely love their jobs. They are so good with the kids too. My sons really look up to Jacob, Jessie and all of the teachers. These are great role models for your kids to have. Both of my sons joined parkour after playing football for years. In only 1 year both sons have learned to do so much cool stuff. Most importantly they absolutely LOVE going and they have gained so much confidence. Nerf wars is a ton of fun too! The facility is outstanding. Beautiful foam pit and great decor. It does feel a little pricey but when you do the math, if you take your child 4x a week, the amount your paying per hour is actually pretty low especially considering that the kids do get a lot of individual training because the class size isnt massive. I really encourage you to support this absolutely fantastic business!!!!

Planet Fitness - Westland

Al: Decent gym but would be more time efficient if the staff was on the same page. This isn’t my home gym but I have been coming since I’ve been home from school for the summer. The first time I was asked for ID which was expected. The second time I just scanned at the front. The third time, after I scanned, they asked me to sign the sheet. The fourth time, I was only asked to scan. The fifth time, I was asked to scan and fill out the sheet. The sixth time, they asked for my ID again. Staff said it was because I don’t have a picture on file but they’re unable to add one. I go to my car to get my ID and a different employee is at the scanner. He scans me and tells me I’m all set— no ID needed and when I said I was asked to go get my ID, he was confused. Don’t send people back out to their cars if it clearly isn’t that important. When I was first told to sign the sheet and I asked why I had to, the employee told me it was so “if I got hurt on site they could prove I was here.” The scanning doesn’t do that? The cameras don’t do that? I never know what I’m expected to do when I walk in. I started going out of my way to the Taylor location where the check in process is consistent and the paper towel machines are never empty.

barre3 - Northville

Adriana Francavilla: I love going to Barre 3! I went a number of times when it was TBC but I love it even more now and have had my unlimited membership with them since April. It was the perfect way to prep for my wedding! Each class is a great workout (& a good sweat!) it’s an amazing community of women & I couldn’t be happier with my experiences there. I always look forward to each class! Highly recommend :)

Planet Fitness - Garden City

Mr Gibbs: I’ve been going to this gym for about 4 years now and I gotta say, I don’t really have problems with it. One thing I really do recommend is getting heavier dumbbells. I’ve been to other planet fitness areas and their dumbbell weights go up to 95lbs which is actually awesome. It’s hard for me to get a heavy set in with dumbbell presses,/incline presses here in garden city. Most of my friends agree with me as well for this location to get heavier dumbbells. Other than that, it’s an amazing gym over here!

Gemini Pole Fitness - Livonia

E Keisha “Keisha”: This pole dance studio is awesome. I don’t know how many instructors there are. I have met 3 and they all have very different styles. However, they are all very talented in their craft. Very nice instructors that really take the time not only to teach you the basics but to explain the moves. No matter how many students are in the class. They make an effort to walk around and help each student. The website is very helpful and easy to navigate. They have a wide range of classes and levels. Classes fill quickly. The studio is always clean and they start on time. The music is always on point and the time go fast. You can also email them and they email back promptly. You won’t be disappointed with choosing this studio.

Orangetheory Fitness - Northville Township

Sherri Lynn Jones: This place is pretty mid. I tried it for a month but the coach I got played terrible 90’s pop or 90’s rock. Felt like I was at an old ladies YMCA class. I wouldn’t recommend for the under 30 crowd.
