5 /5 Sue: Not sure exactly how long this place has been called Emersons on the Grill, but the building was a restaurant back when I lived in "The Clem" during the early 2000s & I never thought to give it a second look then. I have to say, Im SO glad I read about it online a few months ago, because its definitely a hidden gem of a restaurant! They serve breakfast, lunch & a few dinner items, but theyre only open until 3pm. Its not much to look at from the outside, which is deceiving, but inside is a clean & tidy little dining establishment. Their menu isnt huge, which isnt a deal breaker, because honestly, Id rather see a smaller menu knowing the food is fresh as opposed to a ginormous menu with all sorts of options, now knowing how often the turn over is. My friend & I each had salads, which were HUGE & absolutely fantastic! Everything was prepped to order & presented nicely. I had the Maurice salad, which included four tiny sweet gherkins (YUM!), a hard boiled egg, TONS of delicious julienned swiss, ham & turkey on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce with TWO containers of delicious homemade Maurice salad dressing. My friend had their crispy chicken salad, which they accomodated her request of replacing the crispy chicken with grilled chicken that was tender, along with a fresh greens blend, tomatoes & cucumbers all with a homemade Ranch dressing. As far as prices, extremely reasonably priced for what you get. I also had a cup of their piping hot chicken noodle soup (I forgot to ask if it was homemade, but it sure tasted like it was!) which was delicious. Our server was very friendly & professional also. I heard theyre known for their breakfast.......cant wait to try that option out next!
