House of Umami Ramen - Canton Township (MI)

4 /5 Alex A: This was our first time trying House of Umami, and overall it was a good experience with some highlights and a few misses. We ordered the bang bang chicken, chicken bao buns, a stir fry ramen bowl, and the katsu chicken rice bowl. The bang bang chicken was tasty and nicely cooked, though we definitely wished it came with more sauce. The chicken bao buns were felt more like a light cucumber sandwich than a chicken bao, but we ended up stuffing the bang bang chicken into them and made it work. The stir fry ramen bowl had great flavor, but the portion felt pretty small for the price. On the other hand, the katsu chicken rice bowl was excellent! Generous portion, amazing flavor, and easily the standout dish of the meal. The atmosphere was welcoming, and service was friendly, especially for a first visit. While not everything hit perfectly, there were enough good elements that we’d be open to coming back and trying more of the menu.

5 /5 Jess L: My fiancé and I decided to come here on a date night. The place was pretty busy but we were sat down pretty quickly. Our waitress was Maria C. She was very kind and attentive especially with how busy it was. She checked on us multiple times and my drink was never empty. She was bubbly and you can tell shes not only good at her job, but she enjoys it.

5 /5 Destiney Shaw: 10/10 for everything. Jeremy was our server and he went above & beyond, he came through with the best recommendations! Started with the avocado bomb (must try!) then enjoyed the tonkotsu ramen (12/10!!!) then finished with the tempura cheesecake which was delicious! We will definitely be back and probably repeating this exact order!

5 /5 Sade & Taurean Mulkey: I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and our server was even better! Maria C did not miss a beat. She had great menu suggestions, was extremely attentive and pleasant. I would come back just for her!
