The Old Goat - Grand Rapids (MI)

5 /5 Chelsi May: We were visiting Michigan from out of state and looking for a chill place to eat, We visited The Old Goat on a Monday at 5 or so pm, this place was jumping! The energy was a vibe, we ordered early enough for happy hour too! JT was our server and his service was impeccable! He was knowledgeable about the menu gave his recommendations AND crowd faves. Let’s be honest JT was a whole vibe just himself even if the food was bad (which it was amazing) I still would have returned because our service experience was probably the best we’ve ever had. Hubby had a few yeunglings and I had a Cider (first time, recommended by JT and it was delish) We got apps first - Deviled eggs but remixed like green bean casserole they were so good and Bizzy Grizzy (a biscuit/muffin top texture) with cheese and some sauce dip, there were salt flake sprinkles on top and this was so savory paired perfect with the dip sauce. My hubby got the Mac Daddy and ofcourse I had to taste test that, it was absolutely delicious. I got the pick 4 - lobster bisque soup, it was very rich and creamy, Uncle Cesar Salad, the Emily Reuben and some french fries. The pastrami was slice perfectly not too thick or too thin and the entire Reuben itself was delicious, my favorite was the pumpernickel bread it’s made with. For dessert we order a goat cheese cheesecake with crumbled nuts and that really hit the spot too. Everything was perfect all around.We will be back the next time we’re in town and will 100% be asking for JT!

5 /5 Cathy Morris: What a cool place. Eclectic, unique decor. I especially loved the goat pictures and the barrel lights. Some of our favorite dishes were the pizza, tomato soup, lobster bisque, burger, ham sandwich and grilled cheese. It took awhile to get seated, but we got excellent service.

5 /5 Patrick Schoof: I had heard about The Old Goat from my nephews for years, who worked there and were treated like family. They loved the people! Sadly, the funeral service for my oldest nephew was yesterday. Without hesitation, The Old Goat offered to cater it for free (200+ people) and be there. While the food was literally fabulous, the substance of the people that own and manage The Old Goat are even more amazing! Support businesses that value and love their people, and show it. We desperately need them in our world!

5 /5 Delaney Miesch: This place is amazing! Joseph O was our server, he was funny, kind, personable and offered amazing recommendations (he also put up with my indecisiveness). Chicken sandwich and steak were so good. Fav drink was the cocoa butter kisses. We will be back.

4 /5 Megan Glynn: Overall our experience was good. We did wait much longer than they projected to get a table, but the wait was worth it. The biscuits (Bizzy Grizzy) were AMAZJNG 10/10 the highlight of the meal. I got the Sticky Kawicky sandwich: chicken was great, flavors were good, but the bun was not built for that type of sandwich. Got real soggy real quick. My boyfriend got the Gumbo Pot which was good, as well. The ambiance was artsy and sort of vintage industrial vibe. The other thing that could have been better was our service, since we waited some time for our server to come back around for drinks. Would definitely come back!
