5 /5 Taylor Wilkinson: Academy 231 has been amazing for our daughter. Its given her so much confidence and ability, not only physically, but mentally/emotionally as well. The instructors are wonderful, classes are structured but very welcoming, and its truly just like a big family. She has made friends with kids older and younger than her, she LOVES going to class, and we enjoy watching her learn and grow. Steve has created such a great program and were so happy to be a part of it.

5 /5 Jamie Holt: This gym is an absolute gem. The culture and environment here are simply incredible. Everyone is committed, regardless of your skill level. The people here are incredibly talented and genuinely willing to help you succeed. If you’re feeling nervous, don’t worry; the people are fantastic. Coach Steve has assembled a special team, and he’s an awesome guy with a great personality. If you’re considering taking up the sport, I highly recommend giving it a try; you won’t be disappointed.

5 /5 Mikey Foulke: Steve is a solid guy and fantastic instructor, loves breaking it down in bite sized pieces to help you understand. Egos are at the door, everyone is super kind and will introduce themselves, never have to worry if you wont have someone to train with or roll. Everyone puts in solid work and the environment is exactly what I look for in a gym. Definitely recommend if youre brand new or experienced. Honestly great prices, training is round the clock daily depending on what you want to do, clean gym and mats, and the location is perfect. If you want to learn really solid and well instructed BJJ, this is the place to do it in the greater Muskegon area.

The facility is clean and well-maintained, and everyone is always friendly and supportive. I highly recommend Academy 231 to anyone interested in learning jiu-jitsu in a positive, beginner-friendly environment led by a team that truly cares about their students.
