5 /5 Helet Botha: To me, the singular most amazing thing about this gym is that the coaches have figured out the recipe for how to grow a community that centers on people having one thing in common: an intention to grow their bodily capacity. No matter who you are, if you have that intention, this gym can become a home that helps you act on that intention consistently.
Theres a lot of variance in terms of how fit members are, how much experience they have with weight-lifting etc. Precisely that is incredibly powerful: when I go to a class that is designed such that, as a beginner, I can meaningfully participate, while getting to watch more experienced members workout very hard... that is inspirational. Ive only been part of this gym for two months and it is helping me view my body differently, and relate to it differently -- theyre helping me get closer to the way I want to relate to my body.
Concretely, I joined this gym to address tightness in my lower back when I run. I am a distance runner. The support Im getting on that front is effective. More effective than many other things Ive tried (inlcuding PT).
