  • The Fitness Room LLC - Shelby Township
Shay A: Tony is great! I signed up for one on one training with him and his rates are competitive compared to other trainers in the area (checked out a few). The sessions are very personalized, you get the whole gym to yourselves so he is only focuses on your workout. I am somewhat a beginner with working out but he is definitely pushing me to feel better and be better! Fun, different workouts, music of your choice. His clients range from kids to young adults to parents. You can tell he has a lot of experience.

Luay Shalabi: I came to this gym with serious knee issues, and from the very first physical therapy session, I noticed a profound difference — I stopped limping right away. The physical therapist was incredibly professional, highly experienced, and treated me with great respect and care. After therapy, I began working with a personal trainer who was just as impressive — respectful, knowledgeable, gentle, and extremely informative. Every session felt tailored to my needs and progress. What really sets this gym apart is the overall atmosphere. The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming, and even the owner regularly walks around checking in on people, which shows a genuine commitment to members well-being. I’m truly happy with my experience and will continue coming here. This level of care and professionalism is something I haven’t seen in other gyms. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Sarah Clark: I’m still attending PL pretty frequently. I enjoy the early classes they offer in the Spring, Fall & Winter. Summer I try to make as many evening classes as I can. I love that you can get a full workout in without having to go to an over crowded gym and wait for equipment. Mia & Lilly are both amazing! They watch your form and make sure you get the most out of your work outs. The unlimited package is definitely the route to go.
    Planet Fitness - Ann Arbor
Desi Garland: I contacted this Planet Fitness to inquire about membership cancellation and annual fees. During the call, I spoke with a crew member named ZACK. The interaction was less than satisfactory. Specifically, Zack failed to acknowledge my initial greeting, and he repeatedly engaged in conversations with a coworker while I was attempting to obtain information regarding memberships. When I expressed my concern about the unprofessional conduct, Zack hung up the phone on me. As a result, my questions remained unanswered, and this experience has led me to reconsider my membership..
3N1 Fitness Revolution - Ann Arbor
Jesse Feyen: If you want a gym that is a community that will support and motivate you, 3N1 is the place. I love coming here and seeing all the friendly faces while I push through the next seemingly impossible workout. While not huge, the facility is in great condition and the equipment is top quality and continually evolves to meet the needs of clientele. I highly recommend the group classes to give you the motivation you need instead of just "showing up" to hit the treadmill or the bench. 3N1 hits the sweet spot between a big impersonal gym and the over-the-top boutique spot - try it out!
    Anytime Fitness - Ann Arbor
Extra Ordinary: Initially heard about this gym through class pass and began booking open gym time sessions. Unfortunately, I was consistently questioned and berated at the front desk when I would come in. They asked where I lived, worked, and other personal details that were unnecessary seeing as I wasn’t a member. They clearly had an issue with me booking through class pass, and they vocalized it. During one of my sessions, one of the male staff members told me that they would cancel their partnership with Class pass. Ultimately, they did. If this is how they treat non-members, I can’t imagine committing fully to this location.
Crunch Fitness - Ann Arbor - Ann Arbor
The Deesup2k: I utilize this gym solely on the fact that it’s the only one in my area open early enough for me to be able to get my workouts in before work. Unfortunately, it seems the staff or someone at this location stopped showing up? I’ve been coming for over a year when they open at 5:00 am like clock work, there’s no notice on their door, website, social media that indicates they are opening later on these days. I get up early to drive here and it’s closed when I do? Yeah, I plan on switching gyms as soon as possible, and I’ll gladly let them know the reason why.
Blue Lion Fitness - Ann Arbor
Matthew Hazle: Amazing gym! The classes are a great mix of strength and conditioning, and I love that there’s always a little bit of core. The dedicated warm up portion is helpful too. The coaches pay close attention to people’s form as they go through the lifts, and they offer helpful, personalized feedback.
    LA Fitness - Ann Arbor
    LA Fitness
Kayla Pinto: This place is absolutely disgusting. Zero standard of cleanliness. The weight floor is full of hairballs and dust bunnies, the mirrors are streaked, there is dirt and grime on every machine. The pool area is deplorable. It includes a fully rusted handicap chair, scum lines, brown foam and hair everywhere. Sunday morning there was zero toilet paper in any stall and just a big roll left on the counter. Multiple members in the locker room speak of staph infections they’ve received here. I personally have developed a rash on my back that cleared up upon taking a week away from this place. The lockers do not have a code to lock so you are required to bring a lock which is inconvenient compared to other gyms. Multiple stair stepper machines are broken. There is no hip thrust machine and poor leg press options. Extremely disappointing environment
Wolverine Strength and Conditioning - Ann Arbor
Dustin Dobbs: Enjoyed my time dropping in here while on a quick visit from out of town. I’d highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area in search of one, or anyone looking for a place to drop-in. Huge, clean space with a very nice entryway and lobby. Bathrooms are kept tidy and the showers are an added bonus. Coach Cyril created a fun and welcoming environment, while also giving feedback to each athlete.
