2 /5 Cerise Christian: Everything I ordered would’ve tasted better from the canned aisle at Meijer. I said what I said. Everything is just salty. The yams tasted just like Bruce’s. The Mac and cheese tasted like cheesy eggs. The greens are so SALTY AS WELL AS THE FRIED CHICKEN! The mashed potatoes were just peppered and needed gravy. Them oxtails my poor taste buds tasted like smothered corned beef. I said what i said.

5 /5 Three Rock: Smackin Soul Food never disappoints. The food has always been amazing and full of flavor—real soul food done right. Me and my fiancé lucked up on the all-day lunch special and definitely took advantage of it. On top of that, they surprised us with extra sides just to show appreciation, which really meant a lot. Great food, great portions, and great service. This place is a must-try and absolutely well worth your money. We’ll definitely be back!

4 /5 Kaila James: I’ve eaten at this place before and the last time it was excellent. This time was just the same. The lamb chops were super flavorful. The yams were nice and sweet and the macaroni cheese was pretty good. It was better season the last time I had it but overall, I would definitely order again. Some of the best soul food I have had in Detroit

3 /5 Jameka Thompson: I got the lamb chops with cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread dressing. The lamb chops were cut super thin which my fiancé and I didnt care for. The dressing was ok was missing something. I was expecting better with the lamb since I used to go to his first restaurant LeCulture, and it was fire. Definitely worth a try.
