Kelly Robinson: Ken R. I started training at Crossfit Lower Town, about a hear and half ago. Since then I have lost over 50 pounds, and at 43 Im in the best shape of my life. The workouts are challenging but the environment and coaches make it fun. The coaching is top notch. They push you to work hard, and improve but always stress training in safely. The people who train here are great, no big egos, but more of family atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is interested.

Robert: What started out as a good gym when it opened has deteriorated over time. This place is more of hangout and free gym membership for the employees. Equipment breaks consistently and stays broken for months while the employees workout in their private fitness area and make milkshakes all day long. The sauna needs a hard remodel since the seats are falling apart. It was a good gym back in 2019 because of the layout helped with crowding, but nothing has changed in the 6 years its been open.

Jason Artnick: I’ve been a member of the Livonia Rec Center on and off for about 15 years, and unfortunately, my overall experience has been disappointing. While the facility offers a wide range of amenities, the quality of service and upkeep has steadily declined. Staff members often seem unsure or unaware when asked basic questions, and there’s a noticeable lack of effort to provide value or appreciation specifically for Livonia residents—despite allowing non-residents to join. The facility is frequently not well-maintained, with cleanliness being a recurring issue. The changing rooms/bathrooms for the pool smell awful and are filled with drain flies. The children’s pool areas are often closed, under repair, or undergoing renovations with little communication or value accommodation offered to members during these downtimes. Customer service is another major concern. The front desk staff can be unwelcoming, and interactions can feel more accusatory than helpful. Unfortunately, the experience extends to other areas as well—the person who manages birthday parties has made guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on more than one occasion. As a long-time Livonia resident, I truly wish this community space lived up to its potential, but it feels like members are continually asked to pay more while receiving less in return. Just today a “manager” found it necessary to make unnecessary comments about me because my thumb print did not work. However I was with my husband and daughter. His thumb print did work. I have on several occasions tried to discuss this with them and they cannot make it work. They blame me or chastise me every time instead of coming up with a solution.

Ali Bazzy: For a new gym its missing a lot of basic equipment for abs and arms yet it has lots of equipment for chest and back. Needs to be more balanced. Very disappointed that there was no running hot water for the showers. And just to add that all of but one of the wipes to clean the equipment off were completely empty. Please fix this issue. Ok.. Instead of addressing the issue and contacting me, this is the response I get back from the gym "Hello Ali, this is Anytime fitness Livonia. You have been locked out of the club. Please do not return to the gym." This is such a disappointment from a franchise that Ive been a member since 2015. Corporate will be notified and it seems like this owner/manager does not care of your opinion if it doesnt match his. Stay away if you can. Many other nicer gyms in the area.

Cindy Doan: The staff here are incredibly nice and kind. I recently signed up and was immediately welcomed by the manager, Michael. The gym has all of the equipment imaginable and I never have to wait to use them. Mollie is my training coach and she knows her stuff. After my first lesson I already felt my muscles getting stronger. I highly recommend signing up for weekly training with a coach! In addition, the gym is very clean and the bathrooms are very nice!

saif alqaderi: I can’t say enough good things about this gym! The sauna here is hotter and better than any other gym I’ve ever been to, and everything is always super clean and well taken care of. The atmosphere is welcoming, the members are friendly, and the staff go above and beyond. The variety of equipment is incredible—old-school machines, brand-new equipment, boxing bags, and even pickleball courts. It’s a unique gym that truly stands out; there’s nothing else like it in the area. And the best part is the owner, Ben. He’s the best—always friendly, approachable, and clearly cares about making this gym a great place for everyone. Highly recommend!

Sarah Gavlick: What can I say…. I LOVE this place!! Coaches are amazing and they genuinely want you to do good, get better and kick butt!! I have really come into myself the past 2 years. I’ve learned how to eat correctly, which means, getting that protein in and sugar out! I’ve also learned that working out really is a mind set. Just do it!! Don’t think about it. Just do it!!
