Cornbread Restaurant & Bar - Southfield (MI)

5 /5 jeanine williams: We had rib tips, fried catfish, fried turkey chops, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, & collards. And I got to sample the gumbo (my first time trying it), which was delish. The catfish was very nicely fried. All the other meats were tender and everything was good and tasty! Friendly staff. Great service. Didnt have to wait long to get our food.

5 /5 Ash Henderson: 10/10 food was hot, fresh and delicious! This place seems to be black owned which is a major plus for me! For my first time coming I truly enjoyed myself. The service was great our server was nice she answered all our questions and was very informative. I ordered the “big back breakfast” which came with fish, wings, a waffle , eggs and grits with a side of collard greens. It was all flavorful the grits didn’t need anything but a spoon. The fish and chicken were both seasoned very well. I got a blue Kool-aid and a blue tequila slushy drink which were both good. The atmosphere was chill and clean the music was wonderful not too loud but loud enough to where you don’t feel like you’re yelling at the person you came with! I will be back and I’ll bring my greedy friends with me.

5 /5 Tim Sherwood: Great dinning experience, our son took my wife and I for our anniversary. The atmosphere is casual and the hostess was welcoming and our waitress was friendly. The food was delicious, we had the bayou combo. It was rib tips and wings and fried catfish with sides of Mac and cheese and red beans and rice. And the cornbread that was brought out before the meal was warm and very good. My dessert was a very good chocolate cake. We will definitely be going back again.

5 /5 Laura Thompson: Stopped here today for a late lunch. I ordered the fried chicken meal came with two sides. I chose green beans and coleslaw. Of course the meal came with cornbread. I lived down south for a while but I have to say this was the best fried chicken ever. Tender and moist on the inside with light crispy skin on top. The cornbread too was so good. Moist on the inside. But everything was delicious. Not one thing was average or mediocre. I got a cup of gumbo soup for later. I highly recommend. If possible when you come in try not to get a table by the door in the winter. It gets cold when someone comes in. It looks like quite a few people order take out as well. The staff here are very friendly checking on you.
