5 /5 Tami Krogmeier: I have been an athlete all of my life, running/power walking and playing tennis competitively from the age of 12 till I was in my early forties. Then the pain in my neck, shoulders, entire back and hips literally stopped me in my tracks. Chiropractors had been essential most of my life just to keep me up and moving, but never a real fix. in 2016 when I could not even walk out of a grocery store with my back and neck in spasms I ended up flat on my back for several weeks with two pinched nerves . MRIs revealed five herniated discs . Feeling hopeless and terrified I would have to endure this continued painful existence, finally my physical therapist suggested Pilates!! he said that Pilates causes cross-lateral strengthening of the core muscles and would be of great value for my condition. I found Pilates by Liz in Canton and have never been the same...I have truly been transformed into a strong and highly functional person once again ! I could not squat/ bend over to pick up a peice of paper or tie my shoes/ close a car door once seated, raise my left arm more than a few inches, or even sit cross legged, I could not even walk around the block.
After only a few months of Pilates the healing began. Now after 6 months I am so pleased with all I can once again do and best of all NO Back or hip pain . I have never been bored in a class because Liz implements a HUGE variety of exercises on the reformer, Pilates chair and Bode suspension system. The variety of exercises has enabled my body to reform and strengthen from head to toe. The spring tension for most of the exercises enables muscles strengthening with a smooth movement, no jarring or undue stress on the body. Liz is a hands-on personal trainer no matter if you are alone or in a group. Feeling extraordinarily blessed to be a student to her exceptional gift of teaching health and fitness.
