What Clients Are Saying about Planet Fitness (on GG)
5 /5 Vrishabh Iyer: Super relaxed and friendly staff. Great place to go to and workout
3 /5 Kelly Berg: Been a member here for several years and the staff is amazing! Always super friendly. I am however very disappointed they have not replaced the trainer they had at this location. Granted he was exceptional and hard to replace but going to classes was the main reason I signed up. The classes were almost always full so theres clearly a demand for them. I feel like Im paying for a service Im no longer getting. The staff has recommended going to other locations that have a trainer but to me that is not acceptable. If a trainer isnt added soon Im afraid Im going to have to go elsewhere.
5 /5 Christy Gehringer: Clean facility, lots of options and helpful staff and trainers available. If you need help with your workout, hust ask and the staff will help you get the most out of your time there.
1 /5 Jeremy H: Went in and canceled a membership today. Mind you I did not know I had one or I would have been going. Many months thinking it was a mess up all that money straight out the window. And then they charge me for a late fee. Like really. Are you all that greedy. No wonder you have 4-5 people working they gotta find a way to pay everyone. I didn’t go one time you all could have at least refunded the 10 dollars. Greedy franchise
4 /5 Mason Dockery: Yes, I work out here. You want to hear my biased opinion? I liked it better when the massage chairs timeframe could be longer than 12 minutes... I dont know why they are allowing non-black card members to go in this area. Overall, everything else is good.. They keep things clean and tidy. And the staff is its easy to talk to. Theyre pleasant and respectful.
Robert: What started out as a good gym when it opened has deteriorated over time. This place is more of hangout and free gym membership for the employees. Equipment breaks consistently and stays broken for months while the employees workout in their private fitness area and make milkshakes all day long. The sauna needs a hard remodel since the seats are falling apart. It was a good gym back in 2019 because of the layout helped with crowding, but nothing has changed in the 6 years its been open.
Jason Artnick: I’ve been a member of the Livonia Rec Center on and off for about 15 years, and unfortunately, my overall experience has been disappointing. While the facility offers a wide range of amenities, the quality of service and upkeep has steadily declined.
Staff members often seem unsure or unaware when asked basic questions, and there’s a noticeable lack of effort to provide value or appreciation specifically for Livonia residents—despite allowing non-residents to join. The facility is frequently not well-maintained, with cleanliness being a recurring issue. The changing rooms/bathrooms for the pool smell awful and are filled with drain flies. The children’s pool areas are often closed, under repair, or undergoing renovations with little communication or value accommodation offered to members during these downtimes.
Customer service is another major concern. The front desk staff can be unwelcoming, and interactions can feel more accusatory than helpful. Unfortunately, the experience extends to other areas as well—the person who manages birthday parties has made guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on more than one occasion.
As a long-time Livonia resident, I truly wish this community space lived up to its potential, but it feels like members are continually asked to pay more while receiving less in return.
Just today a “manager” found it necessary to make unnecessary comments about me because my thumb print did not work. However I was with my husband and daughter. His thumb print did work. I have on several occasions tried to discuss this with them and they cannot make it work. They blame me or chastise me every time instead of coming up with a solution.
