1 /5 Stephanie Edwin: I visited Dear Prudence for the first time last week, eager to support a local small business, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I purchased two sweaters, and after wearing one for just a single day (sitting at a desk for 8 hours), it looked extremely worn—I believe it had to be defective. The sweater was $100, and now it’s completely unusable. I returned to the store today to exchange it, but was only offered a store credit for the unworn sweater. What really frustrated me was that the store would not stand behind the quality of the damaged sweater, leaving me with no resolution. I understand mistakes happen, but given the price and the condition of the sweater, I expected better customer service.
Ive never written a negative review before, but I felt compelled to after being unable to speak directly with the store owner (who, I was told, is based in Alabama). Unfortunately, because of this experience, Dear Prudence has lost a customer. I hope that the owner reaches out to me to come to a more satisfactory resolution to this issue. I believe the employees working today felt bad that they were unable to offer me a better solution.
